The Man Who Can

BY JOHN W. MYERS

Jesus

Act 1: Divorce

Characters: Two elementary school friends, Jamie and David.

Jamie: I'm so sad I could just cry. I just don't know what to do.

David: What's wrong with you?

Jamie: My daddy left us last night.

David: My daddy leaves on trips all the time. Your daddy will be back soon.

Jamie: No, you don't understand. He's gone. He took all his clothes with him when he left. Everything.

David: Well, you'll still get to see him or go visit him on weekends. I know a lot of kids who only see their daddy on the weekend.

Jamie: But you don't understand. It won't be the same as it was with him at home. He won't be there when I need him. It just hurts so much to lose my daddy.

David: I'm sorry you're so hurt. I know I can't say anything or do anything to make you feel better. But I know a Man Who can.

Song:

I Know A Man Who Can

By Jack Campbell and Jimmie Davis

(Performed as a solo or by a small group of youths and/or adults)

Verse 1:
I Can't Take A Heart That's Broken
Make It Over Again
But I Know A Man Who Can
I Can't Take A Soul That's Sin Sick
Wash It White As The Snow
But I Know A Man Who Can

Chorus:
Some Call Him Savior, The Redeemer Of All Men
I Call Him Jesus, For He's My Dearest Friend
If You Feel That No One Loves You
And Your Life Is Out Of Hand
I Know A Man Who Can

Verse 2:
I Can't Walk Upon The Water
Calm The Dark And Raging Sea
But I Know A Man Who Can
I Can't Cause Blind Eyes To Open
Or Make The Lame To Walk Again
But I Know A Man Who Can
