Janie: You know, about uh, about uh, well, about (long pause) sex? Donnie: Huh!!?? (pause) Well, yeah, I think about that sometimes. Janie: Have you ever thought about me and you that way? Donnie: Huh!!?? Janie: Well, you know what I mean. Some of the other girls, they're always bragging about what they've done with boys and sometimes they tell me I'm weird because I'm still a ... well, you know. Donnie: Huh? Janie: Because I'm still a virgin. Do you think I'm weird, Donnie? Donnie: No, you're not weird, Janie. You're nice, real nice. And I like you a lot just like you are. Janie: Are you still a ... uh, well, you know. Donnie: Huh? Janie: Still a virgin? Donnie: Oh. Well, yeah, I guess so. Janie: Do the guys ever kid you about that, or tell you you're weird? Donnie: Yeah, sometimes. But I don't let it bother me much. Janie: Why not? Donnie: Well, the preacher said that stuff, you know, he said that stuff was for married people. And I'm not married yet, so I guess I'll just have to wait for ... uh, for that stuff. Janie: I'm glad you feel that way, Donnie. I feel that way, too, but I didn't want you to think I was weird or anything. And I think you're nice, too, Donnie, and I like you a lot, too. I really want to wait for ... uh, that stuff, too. Donnie: Yeah, let's wait until we're, uh, well, until we're, uh, well, uh... let's just wait. Janie: Okay. I can wait a long time for you, Donnie, if you'll wait for me, too. Donnie: Okay, I promise I'll wait for you if you'll wait for me. Janie: Sure, Donnie, that's a promise I'll be glad to keep.
