The Man Who Can

BY JOHN W. MYERS

Jesus casts out Satan from heaven

Act 5: Salvation

Characters: Middle-school or high-school friends, Judy and Bonnie.

Bonnie: Judy, can I talk to you a minute?

Judy: Sure, Bonnie. You know I've always got time to talk to you.

Bonnie: Well, that's one thing I wanted to talk about. All my other friends, they might be my friend one day, then the next day, they don't even want to talk to me. But you're always my friend, even when I don't feel like talking to you. Why is that?

Judy: Well, the Bible says if you want friends, you have to be friendly. So I try to be friendly all the time, not just when I feel good about everything.

Bonnie: And that's something else I don't understand about you. Whenever I ask you a question, you're always giving me answers from the Bible. Why is that?

Judy: Well, Bonnie, the Bible is God's Holy Word and it tells us everything we need to know. And most of all, it tells us about Jesus, Who died on the cross for our sins.

Bonnie: Yeah? You're always talking about Jesus, too. You make Him sound like He's somebody who's your best friend, not just somebody preachers talk about.

Judy: Jesus is my best friend, Bonnie. Since I believed on Him and made Him my Savior, He made me into a new person. I love Him more than anybody or anything because I know He loves me all the time, without any conditions.

Bonnie: Wow, that sounds great. I don't have anybody who loves me like that.

Judy: Well, Jesus loves you like that, right now, even before you get saved. And He wants you to be saved so you can love Him, too, and go to heaven with Him.

Bonnie: You mean if I get saved, I'll have to go to heaven right then?

Judy: No, not until your time comes. But when you get saved, Jesus will make your life here seem like heaven on earth because He'll be your best friend, too. And He'll always be there to help you with all your troubles.

Bonnie: How can I get saved, Judy? Don't I have to go to church to do that?

Judy: Well, you certainly should go to church, Bonnie. But you can be saved right now. The Bible says if you will confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus up from the dead, you shall be saved. Do you believe Jesus died for your sins, Bonnie?

Bonnie: Yes, I believe that.

Judy: And can you believe in your heart that God raised Him up from the dead?

Bonnie: Yes.... Yes!!! I believe that, too.

Judy: Then the Bible says you shall be saved, Bonnie.

Bonnie: Wow, Judy, something just happened to me! I feel different! I feel something different inside of me! I can't describe it, but it's great! Just great!!

Judy: You just got saved, Bonnie!!! Now you're my sister in Christ as well as my friend. C'mon, let's go over to my preacher's house and tell him all about it.

Bonnie: Yeah, that's a great idea. Suddenly I want to talk to your preacher, too. Let's go.
