A Fisherman's Prayer

Photos and Text by John Myers, Internet Photojournalist

What price, O Lord,
For a moment like this?
Could a million, a billion
Buy us Your true bliss?

But You paid the price, Lord
So we all could go free,
To enjoy life on earth
And for all eternity.

Thank you, O Lord,
For the gift of a morning
For the pleasure of a day,
For Your new life aborning.

For the squirrel on a limb,
For the dog's morning run,
For the sights and the sounds
As another day's begun.

For the fish yet uncaught
For the race left to run,
For the patience to press on
'Til this life's work is done.

Thank you, O Lord,
For the gift of Your Son,
For the grace you are giving
'Til the crown of life's won.
