Beach shots from North and South Carolina beaches

Here's another collection of my beach shots from the North Carolina and South Carolina beaches. One thing all these have in common is they were taken in January, which is one of my favorite times to go to the beach.

These photos are actually from two different trips and nine rolls of film from which I culled all but eight shots. That may sound like a lot of culls but that's about average for a shoot for me. (That's why that Surfside Beach sunrise was so unusual, to have so many good shots at one time.)

This first shot is a sunrise at Beaufort, NC, and illustrates why you need to get there early and be ready for a good sunrise or sunset shot.

This was the moment that occurred just before sunrise, when the sun's rays are spreading over the inlet, painting the water and sky these beautiful pastel shades.
