This is a sunset in Beaufort, looking back inland toward Morehead City.

The boats in the inlet and the drawbridge provide a nice backdrop to the setting sun.

Frankly I didn't expect much when I shot this sunset, the inlet was sort of muddy and bedraggled looking in the light.

But I shot the sunset anyway because I was there at the time, and lo and behold, with the evening shadows obscuring the details, it looks pretty nice.

Just goes to show you should shoot first and ask questions later.
