Kure Beach sand dune fence

Here's a shot I nearly missed.

It was a case of being too close to the forest to see the trees. It's the only shot of a trip to Kure Beach, NC, that I saved, and I almost didn't shoot it.

This is taken looking from the balcony of a motel there early one morning. I shot the sunrise, but it wasn't much, not enough to show you here.

But just before I quit, I noticed the sand-dune fence between me and the beach. The shadows of the fence pickets on the sand made a nice shot.

Sometimes you need to stop and look at the shadows, to get the real picture.
