Fort Fisher trees

I shot a whole bunch of photos of historic Fort Fisher, which is at Kure Beach.

But this shot of the trees between the fort and the water was the only "keeper."

I like old forts and historic sites, but cannons and log walls don't always make for good shots.

The outline of the trees sort of reminded me of a gaggle of spindly old witches, waving their arms in the wind from the ocean, beseeching the breezes not to blow them away.

Sometimes my reasons for why I like a photo are hard to explain. Maybe I'm just weird.
